10 cm Turkish Bowls Whirling Dervish in Red Colour
Whirling Dervishes or Sufi pattern is a traditional dancing inspired design. The dancing is performing in a formal ceremony known as Semazen in Turkey in order to reach ecstasy.
From the last decade of the century, there was a marked deterioration in quality and although production continued during the 17th century the designs were poor, and the city's role as primary ceramics producer was taken by Kutahya.
Please note that the ceramic bowl is original handmade and hand painted piece and as such there may be small imperfections that distinguish this piece from machine made counterparts.
